Who Am I?

Hey, I’m Charlie and welcome to my personal blog on the topic of meditation and yoga.

I guess this is where I should have had a photo of me meditating.

Who Am I seemed an apt title for this page because asking myself this question led me to meditation practice in the first place. It is also the main reason I have become so inspired to work meditation and yoga into my daily life. I would like to say my daily routine but quite frankly, there are days, sometimes weeks when I fall out of the habit of practising completely.

That was the main motivation behind creating this blog. I’m not a ‘guru’ or yogi with ten vipassana retreats under my belt. Far from it. The longest I have spent on retreat really wasn’t a retreat at all, it was a serendipitous visit to Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh, India which I loved and intend to return to one day.

This isn’t my day job either, I offer freelance SEO services and replying to client emails is what is usually on my mind when I cut my morning meditation sessions short. I’m sure many people can relate. However, I do feel like mediation allows me to stay more grounded while working and when launching my own business I knew I wanted to keep mindful principles at the heart of everything I do.

Not only do I try to carry the stillness from meditation into my work but all aspects of my day to day activities. I can’t think of a moment when I couldn’t benefit from being more present. Hopefully reading this blog will help to reveal ever-present consciousness to you, even if just for a fleeting moment to begin with.

Oh, the name? Kenshō (見性) is a Japanese Zen term. Ken – seeing, shō  – nature, essence, quite simply being able to see one’s true nature. Kenshō Way signifies that we’re all the path to awakening.
