Chakra Meditation – A Guided Meditation Script to Balance the Sacral Chakra

We each have seven main chakras in our energy system. There are, in fact, many more chakras but these seven are the ones that we tend to talk about and work with most in terms of energy healing and chakra balancing. You may have experienced working with your chakra energy system through reiki or other energy healing practices.

In this article, I am going to discuss the importance of your second chakra, the Sacral Chakra, and how it can be brought into balance through guided meditation. At the end of the article, I include my own guided meditation script for your practice.

These seven main chakras are energy centers, you can think of them as spinning discs or wheels of light, each with its own color and attributes. These energy centers are found at different points along your body, from the base of the spine (the root chakra) to your lower abdomen (sacral) to the stomach area (solar plexus chakra) and up through your heart chakra, throat chakra, passing between your eyes (third eye chakra) all the way up to the top of your head where your crown chakra is found.

Sacral Chakra

This article is all about specifically healing your sacral chakra through guided chakra meditation and energy healing visualizations.

The Sacral Chakra or Svadhisthana (its Sanskrit name), is the second major root chakra of the body’s seven main chakras, and one of the most vital energy centers of your whole being.

It is found just about 3 to 4 inches below your solar plexus chakra or lower abdomen, just about where the reproductive organs are. The sacral chakra also rules over the kidneys, bladder, and endocrine system.

Color and Symbolism 

The color associated with your 2nd chakra is ORANGE. This invigorating, happy color represents self-confidence, joy, hope, and purification. The color of the chakra very much reflects the energies governed in that energy center.

You can think of your svadhisthana or sacral chakra as the epicenter of your emotions and life energy, your vitality, connection, and sexual energy. It is responsible for the energies linked to your sense of self and it is from this place that your motivation, sense of purpose, creativity, and connection to others originates from.

The element associated with this chakra is the element of water.

Water is a powerful element, hard to contain and at times both gentle and calm, and overwhelming and potent. This connection to water is symbolic of the kind of energies associated with our Sacral Chakra.

Blocked Chakras 

The energy that flows from your second chakra is what causes you to wake up each morning with desire and happiness for another day, so if you’re not feeling tip-top all that often, you may be suffering from a blocked sacral chakra.

Not to worry, the good news is blocked chakras are really quite normal, and there are some amazing ways to practice chakra balancing to recharge and restore your personal power, vibrance, and well-being.

How do you know if your Sacral Chakra needs some energy healing?

If you have a blocked Sacral Chakra you may experience some of the following:

  • Lack of energy
  • Lack of motivation
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Addictions (drugs, drink or food)
  • Loss of sex drive
  • Creative blocks
  • Feeling stuck
  • Lack of self-worth and confidence
  • Digestive issues
  • Reproductive issues
  • Emotional instability
  • Being too much of a perfectionist.

Chakra Healing

There are different approaches that you can take towards rebalancing and bringing sacral chakra healing. These include:

  • Eating nourishing, natural orange-colored foods.
  • Healing with crystals and gemstones linked to the second chakra, such as carnelian, amber, and citrine.
  • Deep belly breathing to fire up the energy center of your second chakra.
  • Essential oil massage with oils such as sandalwood or sweet orange.
  • Repeat affirmations and mantras, such as chanting the word “vam”  to help balance this chakra. Vam is the seed mantra related to this chakra.
  • Unleashing your creativity through painting, dancing, writing, and music.
  • Booking a reiki session with a professional to bring energy healing to your whole body.
  • Guided meditation, I saved the best for last! Using a guided energy healing meditation to bring balance to your chakras is probably the most widely used technique to bring them quickly back into equilibrium.

I believe that having a balanced Sacral chakra is really essential to our overall happiness, sense of self, self-love, and well-being. It’s a crucial part of forging your own path confidently and having the drive, motivation, and sense of self-worth to follow your bliss and create the life of your dreams. If you enjoy using the law of attraction to manifest your desires you’ll find that sacral chakra healing brings renewed energy flow and an overall boost to your general vibration.

I created the following self-healing, guided meditation to balance the Sacral Chakra, please read it through and integrate it into your meditation practice where possible and as needed.

Spiritual Yoga

Sacral Chakra Guided Meditation

Find a quiet, tranquil place where you will not be disturbed.

Sit comfortably on a chair with your feet flat on the floor and your hands in your lap. It’s best if you can keep your spine straight and not fidget too much, so make you are as comfortable as possible.

Of course, if you have to move or shift during the meditation, do so, but try to remain still so that you can really connect with the meditation.

Settle into your space and close your eyes, moving your awareness to your breath.

Take some long, deep breaths in and out. Notice how your chest rises and falls with each breath. Notice how your belly expands as you breathe in. Just be present with your own natural rhythm of breathing for a few moments.

Now as you exhale, imagine that breath leaving your body, and with it, the stress and anxieties of the day go too. Released, into the Universe. As you inhale, imagine that breath bringing you a sense of calm, peaceful relaxation, and as you exhale release your tension, negative energy, and stress.

Now slowly move your attention to your Sacral Chakra, just below your navel.

Visualize in your mind’s eye, a small flicker of orange light beginning to glow right at the center of your focus there at your navel. This little glimmer of light is still quite small, but you can see it.

As you continue to observe this light, see it now begin to expand, glowing a little brighter and beginning to enlarge itself into a vibrant, sphere or wheel of brilliant orange light like a burst of sunlight or a ball of fire.

Take a deep inhalation and feel your breath being drawn into this orange wheel of light. As you continue to breathe in, and out, you observe how each breath contributes to the vibrancy of this orange light center, and it glows and sparkles brighter and brighter.

As you breathe and meditate here, this orange light is now spinning, clear and brighter than ever, covering your entire midsection with its warmth and its light. Feel how this energy infuses you with creativity, personal power, self-love, and confidence.

These orange waves of light energy are clearing and releasing any of the stagnant areas that were previously blocked. Any old habits, beliefs, or negative energy that was stuck there is now being cleared. Anything that no longer serves you or your highest good is dissolved by the powerful light energy of this orange spinning ball.

As you breathe here, in and out in a natural rhythm start to feel how your breath flows up your spine and out of the top of your head, through your crown chakra.

As you exhale, visualize how your breath flows from your Sacral Chakra with that bright, glowing orange energy and it sends all those stagnant, energetic blocks away and out of your system, through the top of your head.

Your breath acts like a flowing stream, cleansing and washing away trauma, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, and all those negative blocks that tend to stick in this energy center.

Breathe in and out and keep focusing on the orange light energy as it flows in and out, cleansing, clearing, and recharging your Sacral Chakra, bringing it back into balance.

Visualize your entire body being filled with this wonderful, orange light energy and as you feel it infusing all parts of you, your physical, your spiritual, your aura itself..repeat in your mind the following affirmations:

I am confident and open to life.

I love myself.

I love creating my life.

I am healthy, happy, and strong.

I have wonderful relationships.

I am sensual, sexual, and express myself with ease.

I value my body and mind and I lovingly care for them.

Take a few moments in silence to focus on this orange energy filling your entire body and becoming an integral part of what makes you whole, healthy, and happy. Bask in its positivity, and feel how it nourishes you on all levels.

Gently bring yourself back into the awareness of life whenever you feel ready by wiggling your fingers and toes and feeling yourself sitting on the chair.

Know that you can always return to this guided meditation whenever you need to check in with your energy system and restore balance and harmony to your Sacral Chakra.
