What is Chakra Balancing Meditation?

A chakra balancing meditation is for healing and bringing into balance the different energy points found in your body.

We are beings made up of light, love, and vibrational energy with many different chakras in and around our energy systems.

There are seven primary points that are most talked about and referred to, and the ones we will be balancing with this chakra meditation script. These seven chakras are spinning wheels of light.

They continually radiate and receive energy. They are found deep within your physical body, beginning at the root chakra (base of your spine) and moving up different points along your body to the crown chakra, which is found at the top of your head.

Each energy center spins in a clockwise direction and appear as different colors.

They each rule over a certain part of your body and area of your life. When your chakras are out of balance, blocked, over or undercharged you will notice the corresponding effects in your life or reflected in your physical and emotional well-being.

For example, a dirty, out of balance or shrunken chakra will result in fatigue, listlessness, and emotional issues. Depending on which chakra is out of balance, that area of your physical being and emotional life will suffer accordingly, becoming imbalanced.

How does a chakra get out of balance?

Usually, it’s as simple as basing your thoughts in fear or worrying a lot about a particular issue. It could be that you constantly fret about money and career, or relationships and lifestyle. Whatever it is, when those thoughts are continuous and tend to be negative, you can suffer from an imbalance in your energy system. Alternatively, focusing mainly on positive thoughts helps to boost your chakras and keep them in harmony and balance.

The fact is that all of us have thoughts sometimes that scare us. We might meet people or experience situations that cause us to feel negative emotions, fear, or anxiety. We may then absorb that negative energy into our systems and experience the effects in our lives, That’s why chakra healing is so important to do on a regular basis, even every day if you have time. The easiest, most effective, and popular form of chakra healing is guided meditation.

How do I Balance and Heal my Chakras?

You can heal your entire energy system yourself with this guided chakra meditation. The idea is to gently clear your energy body every day, bringing your system into a state of harmony and balance.

Follow the chakra meditation in this article either in the morning to start the day off on a positive and empowered note, or follow the meditation in the evening to gently clear away any negative energy you may have absorbed into your system.

Having clear and balanced meridian points is essential to your physical, emotional and mental health.

Let’s take a deeper look at the seven different points on your body and their corresponding energy centers.

The Root Chakra

At the base of your spine, this chakra is a ruby red color. It is related to issues of money, career, home, and security, physical safety and needs.

The Sacral Chakra

This one is found mid-way between your navel and the base of your spine. It is orange. It’s related to physical pleasure, food, sex, addictions, and your habits, exercise, weight and health.

The Solar Plexus Chakra

It is found behind the navel and is bright yellow. It is affected by your thoughts and feelings to do with power, control, and, self-esteem.

The Heart Chakra

Located behind your chest at your heart this chakra is a calming green color and is related to love, relationships, people attachments, forgiveness or unforgiveness, and self-love.

The Throat Chakra

This chakra is in your throat area and is a sky blue color. It’s related to speaking the truth, communication, being able to express yourself and articulating your needs.

The Third Eye Chakra

Located right between your eyes, this chakra is an indigo blue color. It corresponds to feelings about the future, the past, psychic abilities, and your beliefs about spirits. It is your higher self.

The Crown Chakra

This energy center is at the top of your head. it is a royal purple, vivid in color. It is related to your feelings about God, religion, spirituality, divine guidance and all things on a spiritual plane.

How do you Meditate on Chakras?

You don’t need any special knowledge to do a chakra guided meditation. The aim of the meditation is just to focus on your energy and feel it flowing again, throughout your body and through each chakra so that you bring your system into balance and feel healthy and alive.

It helps to have a basic understanding of the seven chakras as written above, but all you really need to do is bring your focus and intention to be slowly guided by the meditation script. You will find that as you follow the chakras guided meditation, you will relax and expand your awareness with each breath. It helps if you can really visualize each spinning center with its individual color as this will assist the cleansing and healing process through your creative mind.

The most important thing is to just release any judgment of yourself and allow the script to guide you further along with the meditation.

What are the 7 Mantras?

There are a couple of different ways to use the guided chakra meditation script. I have created one below without mantras, but you could also add in the seven mantras and use them to do a sound healing meditation chakra on your own.

Each chakra has a corresponding sound as follows:

The Root – Lam

The Sacral – Vam

The Solar Plexus – Ram

The Heart – Yam

The Throat – Ham

The Third Eye – Om

The Crown – Ah

You could adapt the script below to use these mantras if you feel comfortable as you shift your attention to each chakra point. As your attention rests on your solar plexus, for example, you would chant Ram as you visualize a beautiful spinning yellow light. You could do the same for each one. If you haven’t had much practice with mantra meditations, or if it doesn’t feel natural to you, I advise just sticking to the guided meditation below. With time you may choose to try a different way.

Chakra Healing Guided Meditation Script

Find yourself in a comfortable position, seated or lying down somewhere where you will not be disturbed.

Close your eyes and begin to relax your body. Breathe naturally. As you inhale breathe in fresh oxygen and positivity and as you exhale let go of any tension or stress.

As you lie here, let yourself relax and release any busy mind chatter. Simply try to be present. Listen to any sounds around you, and gradually draw yourself into the present moment. Calm and centered. Be here now.

Focus your awareness on your being, as you sit or lie here breathing. See a spark of divine white light in the center of your being, in your stomach area. Feel or see this spark of light shining within you. This is your essence. The true you. It is always there, this divine light is full of love, free, and peaceful energy.

Now, move your focus to your root chakra at the base of your spine. See it as a spinning red light. Feel a strong sense of security, connectedness, and grounding as you visualize the red color growing brighter and bigger with your breath and your spark of divine light. Rest in this feeling as you see it fully illuminated and glowing. Feel a groundedness as you imagine that red light connecting you to the earth and to your basic sense of security.

Now, shift your attention to your sacral chakra. See it as a spinning orange light. Sink your breath and awareness into this orange light, seeing it beautifully illuminated with the divine light that comes from deep within your being. Feel your creativity boosting and feelings of empowerment wash over you. Breathe in this orange light as it flows all over your body.

Move your awareness to the solar plexus now, where you see the light that is spinning is a bright yellow color. Breathe here gently as you focus on the yellow expanding and glowing with health and positive energy. Feel confident and happy, feel the yellow of this chakra brightening even more as you feel totally worthy and at one with yourself. Feel that energy filling you with its light.

Shift your attention to your heart chakra now. A wonderful green spinning light. Breathe here as you picture this green light bathing your heart center with feelings of pure love. Feel deep love for yourself and for others as this green light spins and glows, pulsing with clear, spring green energy. Let it grow and expand as your heart center glows with compassion and kindness.

Move your awareness now towards your throat area and the spinning blue of this chakra. Breathe in the clear, bright blue of the sky into your throat area. Feel a sense of ease as you watch this blue light shining with clarity. Feel a sense of easy expression and communication, the blue energy is loosening your ability to express yourself and say whatever you need to say. Breathe here in this bright and beautiful blue light.

And now, moving up your body you rest your attention on your third eye point. using your inner vision see a spinning circle of blue, dark indigo blue. Bathe this chakra in the blue color, the frequency of insight, clarity, and understanding. Let yourself relax and flow with the swirling indigo blue as it awakens you to see without fear.

Finally, your attention flows right to the top of your head and rests on your crown chakra. Here you can see the light violet light of this center. Bathe this area in light, see it as a majestic violet-purple circle spinning above your head. Invite in a sense of harmony and oneness with all of the universe and creation. Breathe here now. Rest in the awareness that all is well, you are balanced and whole as each part of your body comes into perfect harmony.

And now, whenever you are ready, bring your awareness back to the steady rising and falling of your breath.

Feel where your feet and hands lie. Become aware once again of your waking state as you open your eyes in your own time.

This balanced whole-body energy is within you at all times, it is present in that divine spark of light that is your unique essence, You don’t have to make any effort to find it or force it, it’s just there. You simply hold the intention to heal and balance your system, and so it is.
